Sleeping Baby?

Congratulate my parents on a full night of restful sleep last night... I slept 12 hours straight without waking up! I have only come close to this on 2 other occasions in my entire life, so this deserves being marked on the blog.

After a pleasant night's sleep, we spent the day at Eno River State Park to welcome the new psychiatry interns. Here I am with Daddy after eating lots of watermelon, playing with dogs and running around full speed. As you can see, I was pretty tired. We then decided to trek to Bobbit Hole for some swimming in the river...
And like a champ, I fell asleep.
But this was no ordinary sleep.... because when we arrived to the swimming hole, I STAYED asleep and actually let daddy put me down to nap, ON THE GROUND.

For those of you who may not know this about me, I am very particular about my naps. It's hard to get me down to nap (just ask Mommy or Daddy or my two Nanas). And it's easy to wake me up. But not today!!! You can even see all the people in the backround, yelling, barking and making a ruckus... and I stayed asleep!

I am a sleep CHAMPION! (Mommy wanted a photo taken with the sleep champion to mark this occasion).

After an hour nap on the ground, I woke up. And we went swimming!!

Check out my awesome life jacket.... made for champions.

After drying off, I had a quick snack.

And ready to head home!

Happy Father's Day!

Here we are at my first real restaurant as a toddler in a high-chair. Dim Sum for Father's Day!

My gift to Daddy was good eating and good behaving! But then, really, when am I not well behaved?

Like at the park, for example. Here I am with a pinecone, not realizing that I am about to be ADORED by a small group of young children....

Here we are... me, the center of attention... Daddy, laughing??? (what's so funny Daddy? didn't expect me to be so popular eh?)... and my newest fan-club, who had a competition to see who could carry me the best. It was pretty fun.

After I was manhandled by the kids, I had a rare opportunity to do some manhandling of my own... here I am performing the silent-cat-stalk learned from my own kitty Hans. Luckily for the baby bunny he was faster than me.

It was so hot this weekend that we chose the mall for some indoor fun.

Here, too, I don't mind jumping right in even though I'm always the littlest one around.

Here I am befriending yet another older girl... (mommy says, yes, this happens every time).

Finally, here I am with Daddy trying to get a father's day photo.

I just couldn't stay still long enough to be in focus.

Preparing for the barrel toss? World's strongest man...? Not likely, Daddy -- I'm barely 20 pounds.

I finally showed my face. Happy Father's Day!

I'm 14 Months Old Today!

We're back online after a 3 week blogging hiatus to celebrate me turning 14 months old!

Here's me enjoying the drums at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham.

I had a great time pounding away!

In my typical Jack-style (as Mommy and Daddy are learning), I made friends with everyone around me and got to be the littlest drummer of a very loud drumming threesome.

Then I took my very first train ride.

And almost fell asleep.

Then I got to hang out with the windchimes, which I love.

Here's me outside of the butterfly house. I can say "buh" for butterfly.

Here I am, back at home demonstrating my new parental deception skill of "going limp." Notice the element of surprise with this method, as can be seen on Daddy's face.
(Also a shout-out to my cousin Bailey who sent me this great outfit.)

Channeling my inner-nerd with Daddy's calculator.

Caught examining leaves... later to be ripping them off the tree.

Me and my new friend James. All day I kept thinking "I gotta get me one of those hats," but then I heard there's gonna be a whole new bunch of teams to cheer for in Cleveland... where's that?

Finally, me and my high-calorie breakfast of champions -- carnation instant breakfast-banana-peach-smoothie. Awesome! 20 lbs here I come!!
