All Smiles

This week Jack has started to smile at us on a regular basis. He's so cute!! He is becoming much more interactive and really likes to play with the cow and horsey on his play gym. He continues to grow fast and is nearing 8.5 lbs.

One Month Old

Jack turned one month old this week and celebrated with a visit from Grandpa Chris and Uncle Wolf. We had a great time and took another trip to Fall's Lake for a picnic. Jack also attended his one month doctor's appointment where all looked good and he weighed 7lbs 8 oz. We also survived our first day and a half alone while Dad had his very last Duke Gen Med call last night -- we didn't get much sleep, like Dad. In fact, both Jack and Dad are currently recovering, fast asleep in Jack's room (see below).

We miss you Nana!!

We were very sad that Nana had to go back to Florida today and we miss her already. We had a great 4 weeks together and now Mom and Dad will have to figure things out alone! :) Jack turns 4 weeks old tomorrow and is now 7lbs 3 oz -- up 2 pounds from his low. He's almost grown out of his preemie outfits and he's proud to fit the NB size. This week we went on several outings to practice riding in the car and we discovered the magic of car rides. Instant sleep! Jack has now visited Fall's Lake (he stayed in the car and lunched while Mom and Nana watched the lake), Locopops, and Babies R Us (a 30 minute car ride for a very brief 10 minutes in the story).

We love you, Nana!

He loves to sleep with his head back -- we think he was in reverse fetal position in utero.

20 Days Old

Jack is 20 days old today and growing big!! He has already regained and surpassed his birthweight and last weighed in at 6lbs 8.5oz on Thursday. He continues to be quite the little eater and continues to enjoy those middle-of-the-night feedings. He can't wait to meet all of you!

Almost Two Weeks Old

Jack turns 2 weeks old tomorrow. He continues to be a happy little man and is fond of the long morning nap. This of course means that his nighttime "naps" are a bit shorter, but Jack thinks that night is the best time to get in much of his eating. :)
